Complete guidelines for submitting your research to the CBAI Bibliography Platform

Eligibility & Scope

Who Can Submit?

The CBAI Bibliography Platform welcomes submissions from:

  • Biblical scholars and theologians
  • Researchers from academic institutions
  • Faculty members from seminaries and universities
  • Graduate students (with faculty supervisor approval)
  • Authors of published biblical research

Subject Scope

We accept publications related to:

  • Biblical studies (Old Testament & New Testament)
  • Biblical theology and hermeneutics
  • Biblical languages (Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic)
  • Biblical archaeology and history
  • Exegesis and biblical commentary
  • Intertestamental and Second Temple literature
  • Biblical ethics and spirituality
  • Contextual biblical interpretation (especially Indian context)

Note

All submissions must be relevant to Catholic biblical scholarship and align with CBAI's mission of promoting biblical research in India.

Publication Types

We accept the following types of publications:

1. Journal Articles

Peer-reviewed articles from academic journals focused on biblical studies, theology, or related fields.

2. Monographs

Scholarly books and extended treatises on biblical topics, including revised dissertations and theses.

3. Dissertations & Theses

Doctoral dissertations (PhD, ThD) and master's theses (MA, MTh, MDiv) in biblical studies.

4. Book Chapters

Contributed chapters in edited volumes and collected works on biblical themes.

5. Conference Papers

Presented papers from academic conferences, symposia, and scholarly gatherings.

6. Commentaries

Biblical commentaries (both critical and devotional) on books or sections of Scripture.

Not Accepted

We do not accept devotional materials, popular writings without scholarly apparatus, or works that have not undergone academic review.

Submission Requirements

Required Information

All submissions must include:

  1. Complete bibliographic information
    • Full title and subtitle
    • Author name(s) with affiliations
    • Publication year
    • Publisher or journal name
    • Volume, issue, and page numbers (for articles)
    • ISBN or ISSN (if applicable)
  2. Abstract (150-300 words summarizing the work)
  3. Keywords (5-10 relevant terms for indexing)
  4. Subject categories (primary and secondary)
  5. Language of publication
  6. Author information
    • Academic credentials
    • Current institutional affiliation
    • Contact information

Supporting Documents

Please provide:

  • PDF copy of the publication (for verification)
  • Copyright permission (if not the original author)
  • Faculty supervisor approval (for student theses)
  • Publisher's permission (for previously published works)

Registration Required

You must have a registered account on the CBAI platform to submit publications. Registration is free and takes only a few minutes.

Formatting Standards

Bibliographic Citation Format

Follow the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition) for all bibliographic entries. Examples:

Book Author, First M. Book Title: Subtitle. Place: Publisher, Year.
Book Chapter Author, First M. "Chapter Title." In Book Title, edited by Editor Name, Page-Page. Place: Publisher, Year.
Dissertation Author, First M. "Dissertation Title." PhD diss., University Name, Year.

Language & Transliteration

  • Publications in any language are accepted
  • Provide English translation for non-English titles
  • Use standard transliteration for Hebrew and Greek terms
  • Follow SBL Handbook of Style for biblical language transliteration

Abstract Guidelines

  • Length: 150-300 words
  • Write in third person
  • Summarize purpose, methodology, and key findings
  • Avoid citations and abbreviations
  • Include in English (translation if original is in another language)

Review Process

Submission Review Timeline

  1. Initial Review (1-2 weeks)

    CBAI staff verify completeness and relevance of submission.

  2. Editorial Review (2-3 weeks)

    Subject experts review bibliographic accuracy and scholarly merit.

  3. Cataloging (1 week)

    Accepted submissions are cataloged and indexed in the platform.

  4. Publication (Immediate)

    Entry becomes searchable and accessible to users based on subscription level.

Acceptance Criteria

Submissions are evaluated on:

  • Scholarly rigor and academic merit
  • Relevance to biblical studies
  • Completeness of bibliographic information
  • Originality of research
  • Compliance with submission guidelines
  • Proper documentation and citations

Notification

You will receive email notifications at each stage of the review process. If revisions are needed, specific feedback will be provided.
